Hi Dale and Susan:
We have been having a great time trail riding this nice gelding. He is a very forward walker and goes anywhere you point him. My grandkids are very intimidated by him as he likes to walk out and leave the others behind. We have tried to make this work for a dual purpose mount but it seems that he is just too big and scary, not that he has ever done a thing to scare them, he's just a big guys who moves out with ease. I put a stick on him and he is 15.2 1/2, so they can't saddle or groom him properly like they want too. I know you said that you had inquires about the nice black horse you were riding and I thought if the right home came along I would let him go. He is shedding out a beautiful shiny dark coat, almost black. I have taken over one of my husbands cutting horses that he decided to retire but not sell. I would hate to see this nice horse just stand around. So keep him in mind if you fall upon someone looking for a great trail horse....and he is a great trail horse! I'm up for a commission on his sale if you send someone our way and want to take him to show people. I haven't found a hole in this guy except that your friends had better have fast walking horses if you want to ride with someone.

I had someone come and try out Badger yesterday and I just couldn't sell him. He is way too nice a boy no mater how tall he is. I rode him in the mountains today with my little endurance saddle which is much easier for me to haul up on him. I'm sorry for any inconvenience to you both but I just can't sell him after all. These type of horses are one of a kind, and I must have been caught in a weak moment to think I could actually let him go.

I just returned from a 10 day mountain ride. Badger was awesome, even through each day he seemed a little taller to me! I'll send some pictures separately. He was an awesome boy, went wherever I pointed his nose and there were places I even doubted myself! He went through water over bridges and up and down the mountain sides. Jumped downed logs and was side hobbled after a long days work to eat in the meadow next to our cabin with a big smile on his face and ready for the next days ride. It was a great 10 days!
