Hi Dale and Susan!
It has been a while since we have given you an update on Tanner! He continues to be Danielle’s pride and joy. She loves that horse more than anything in this world. They are quite the pair! Danielle and Tanner competed this spring with the high school equestrian team and made it to the state competition. They did very well… placing in the top 5-7 in each event. It was a great experience for them both. This summer we have been focusing on dressage (that is Tanner’s gift) and we took them to an “A” show in Spokane. She and Tanner won the class for training level test 4, and they made it to the championship show which will be this September. Tanner was one of two quarter horses… all the rest (17 of them) were warmbloods bred for this discipline. Pretty amazing! I can’t tell you how elegant they look together. It truly is a beautiful partnership. Of course, Danielle doesn’t just compete with Tanner. She takes him on tons of trail rides (usually bareback), and has had a blast with him when we go camping and riding with all our horses. In fact, Danielle will be a senior this year and she is hoping to be accepted into the Natural Horsemanship Program and Montana University-Western (in Dillon). This 4 year program requires the students to bring their horses. This is a good thing, because Danielle has refused to leave her horse behind! Tanner is just an incredible member of our family. He is trustworthy, solid-minded, gentle, and a bit of a show-off! He has so much personality, and loves Danielle more than I thought a horse could love his rider. We will forever be grateful to you both for him. Danielle will compete with him at her second “big show” in Spokane during the month of August. If they do well at this one, they will make it to the Dressage championships in Oregon. Wouldn’t that be something? She and Tanner have also qualified for Octoberfest in Yakima this fall! I will send you the website of photos taken of the riders at the big show in Spokane. Thought you would get a kick out of them. Take care and keep in touch! Dominique Bracht P.S. We continue to keep Tanner barefoot. His hooves are incredible and he can race down gravel roads with no problems at all!

Hey folks,
Just a quick note to let you know that Danielle and Tanner made it on the team for state fair in September. They had a great week: flat blue in Showmanship, 4th blue in Western Equitation, 2nd blue in Bareback, Grand Champ in English Equitation, Grand Champ in Dressage, and Grand Champ in Trail. They are both pretty pooped. It was a long, hot week. Hope all is well there in your neck of the woods.
Warmest wishes always, Dominique

Congrats to Danielle and Tanner on a job well done!

Hi Dale and Susan!
Tanner is doing awesome!
I took him to a 4-H show on June 12-13 and we competed in the regular classes just for fun. Tanner did so well though! On Saturday we competed in English Equitation and Dressage. In English Eq. everything was going perfect, then the judge said to drop the sturrips at a trot. I dropped them and eventually got my balance and was doing great, then they asked to cantar! I tried as hard as i could to get him to lope off on the right lead with out my sturrips but Tanner was just having fun trotting as fast as he could. lol! We eventually just decided to walk and not try to lope off anymore and
we settled for 2 reds, but we sure did have fun! Then just for fun I decided to try beginning dressage, which I haven't even practiced with Tanner yet, but we got a Grand Champ. and Reserve Grand Champ.! Tanner did fabulous!! On Sunday it was western, so we competed in Showmanship, Western Eq, and Trail. Showmanship was first and Tanner did great. We got 3rd Blue and a Red. Next was Western Eq. which was another awesome class! We recieved a 4th Blue and a Blue! Our last class was Trail which was fun, but we are definately working on! We recieved 2 whites, not because Tanner spooked at anything, but only because he just really wasn't sure what he was doing. That'll get better with time and I was just proud of him for listening to me and trying it all. Tanner is just a blessing and I love him so much. He is truly enjoying his job and will try ANYTHING! lol.
My mom sends her warmest wishes too.
Well, I better go, take care! -Danielle
